Bobcats Drop Duals...

Montana State threw its weight around in Worthington Arena on Friday night. More specifically, the Bobcats threw their weight throw weight around.
MSU’s Josh Henigman won the men’s weight throw with the second-best mark in school history and the 10th-best throw in Big Sky Conference annals, while Jen Allen won the women’s weight throw. Blake Jackson won the men’s shot put with the second-best mark in MSU history, while Allen’s win in the weight throw made it an MSU sweep in the weight events. MSU’s success in the throwing events overshadowed a 1-1-1 dual meet performance by the MSU women, and an 0-3 record in men’s duals. MSU's women beat Idaho State, lost to Weber State, and tied Montana. The men lost to all three rivals.
“The team results are a little disappointing, but we had some outstanding individual performances,” said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. “Blake Jackson and Jen Allen were spectacular, Josh Henigman had a great meet, and Kevin Clary ran a really good race in the 3,000.”
The top individual event of the night was the men’s mile. Scott McGowan of Montana ran a sub-four minute race after altitude adjustment, the top three finishers all hit NCAA provisional qualifying marks, and Kevin Clary of MSU, who finished fourth, narrowly missed a qualifying mark and ran the fourth-fastest time in MSU history.
