Men's Basketball defeats ISU 76-71

Pocatello, Idaho. – Idaho State closed within three points in the last 2 minutes of second half, but young guards Nick Dissly and Frank brown both made free throws to seal the deal for Montana States victory 76-71.
"The young guys handled it like seniors," Bobcats coach Mick Durham said after the Bobcats win over the Bengals.
Jason Erickson added 14 points, five assists, and two steals before fouling out of the game. The team had to pick up that slack and make some tough shots.
“That was pretty scary but I think it was a confidence booster,” Coach Durham said of the teams play when Erickson was out.
Leading 46-29 at halftime, the Bobcats had a comfortable cushion only to see it evaporate at the half way point of the second half. With 9:12 the Bobcats led 66-49 when Idaho State found its shooting touch and added some tough defense, holding Montana State scoreless for three minutes. During this time Jason Erickson picked up his fifth foul. The Bengals came within seven points 66-59.
Leading by only two points (69-67) with 2:39 in the game, Dissly banked a three pointer to give the Bobcats a five point lead (72-67). With time running out the Bobcats exchanged a couple of baskets with the Bengals and then with :09 in the game Frank Brown converted one of two free throws to finish the game.
Danny Faaborg had 12 points and two assists, and Nick Dissly scored nine points and five assists and had one steal for the Bobcats, which shot 48.2 percent from the field while holding Idaho State to 41.4 percent shooting. Montana State made 9-of-23 shots (39.1 percent) in the second half and went 10-of-21 from 3-point range in the game.
The Bobcats also out-rebounded the Bengals 36-31.
Idaho State (10-14, 5-4) got 31 points, seven assists and five steals from Marquis Poole. Jeff Gardner, who came in averaging 12 points a game, was held to six points and made just 2-of-11 field goal attempts.
Montana State (13-10, 5-5), will play this Saturday in Ogden, UT when they face the Weber State Wild Cats.
