Also contributing to the Montana State (16-7, 8-4) effort was Kim Stonehouse with 12 kills and five digs. Bobcat setter Kamber Kelly dished out 36 assists and 11 digs, while younger sister Kandice Kelly racked up a team-high 14 digs.
“We did what we needed to do to win the match,” said MSU second-year head coach Miya Malauulu. “I thought we served pretty tough and kept them out of sync.
“On the other side, we need to be more patient and run our offense more efficiently,” Malauulu added.
Montana (6-16, 3-9) was led in the loss by Micaela Parker with 13 kills and seven digs, while Jackie White added a match-high 25 digs.
MSU will host Portland State next Friday in Shroyer Gym.
