Bobcat Women’s Basketball Squad Opens Play on Monday

The NWBL Elite team is comprised of former collegiate players, including 6-foot-5 Olga Volkova, a former standout at Cal-Berkeley.
“We’re excited to get going,” said first-year MSU head coach Greg Kudrna. “Exhibition games are a great gauge to see where we’re at and where we need to go.”
Leading the Bobcats this season will be senior Kati Burrows. The Bozeman native led the Big Sky in scoring and was third in rebounding, last winter. Also returning to the line-up is senior Hillary Scott, who started the final two games last year, and averaged 11 points and four rebounds at the Big Sky Conference tournament.
Returning veterans Jaimey Tanner, Briana Fields, Whitney Connolly, Scotta Morton and Alyssa Nelson will all play big roles this season, as well.
“We have a strong nucleus returning from last season, and in Kati Burrows, we have one of the finest players in the Big Sky,” Kudrna said. “We also have some freshmen that can use the exhibition experience to get a feel for the collegiate game.”
Following Monday’s game, the Bobcats will host Baden Sports in an exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 15.
