Bobcat Women Begin Seven-Game Homestand on Saturday Night

The Montana State women’s basketball squad will open its 2004-05 home schedule when it hosts Kent State, Saturday, Nov. 27 at 7:05 p.m. in Worthington Arena. The game will tip-off a seven-game homestand for the Bobcats.
MSU will play next Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:05 p.m., versus Utah Valley State.
On The Air:
For the third straight season Dave Cowan will handle play-by-play duties of ALL regular and postseason Bobcat games on 103.5 KZMY-FM. Cowan will begin his broadcast with a pre-game show 20-minutes prior to tip-off.
Home Sweet Home:
After opening its season at the Air Force-Radisson Inn Classic last weekend in Colorado Springs, the Bobcats begin a seven-game homestand beginning Saturday night against Kent State. Next week, MSU will face Utah Valley State on Tuesday, UC-Irvine on Friday and Montana Tech on Saturday, Dec. 4. The seven-game homestand is the longest of its kind in MSU history.
Wrapping Up the Weekend:
The Bobcats opened the Radisson Inn Classic and its 2004-05 season with a 74-73 overtime victory over Air Force. Bobcat sophomore Scotta Morton paced MSU with a career-high 19 points, including an eight-of-12 effort from the field and three treys. Also hitting double-digits for the Bobcats were Kati Burrows 16, Hillary Scott 15 and Alyssa Nelson 11. For the game, MSU shot 46 percent from the field, and 53 percent (10-19) from three-point range. On Saturday, the Bobcats dropped a 57-39 decision to Louisiana-Lafayette. Burrows was the only Montana State player in double-figures, posting her first double-double of the season with 13 points and ten rebounds.

The Golden Flashes of Kent State University are 1-1 on the season, defeating American University 72-53, before dropping a 63-57 decision to UW-Green Bay on Monday night. Kent State has three athletes averaging double-digits, led by Lindsay Shearer and Melissa DeGrate, who average 17.5 and 15.5 points, respectively. KSU is led by 16th year head coach Bob Lindsay.
Big Sky Conference co-Player of the Week:
Senior Kati Burrows was named Big Sky Conference co- Player of the Week for her efforts at the Air Force-Radisson Inn Classic. The native of Bozeman averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games. Burrows recorded 16 points, including the game-winnning basket in overtime, against Air Force. She also added five rebounds, three assists and two steals against the Falcons.
