Montana State (19-8) was led in the loss by Kim Stonehouse with 11 kills and 12 digs. Setter Kamber Kelly completed her career at MSU with 28 assists and 14 digs.
Sacramento State rolled to the first set win, out-hitting MSU .289 to .035. In the second set, the Bobcats held a 29-26 advantage before the Hornets rallied to win 32-30 following a Wilson kill. In the final stanza, MSU held a 19-15 lead. However, Sacramento State countered to tie the score at 22-all. With the score tied at 25-all, the Hornets broke away with a 5-1 run, winning the match following an Angela Wiebe hitting error.
Sacramento State will play the winner of Eastern Washington-Portland State for the Big Sky title on Saturday.
