Montana State Women’s Basketball Program Inks Two High School Standouts

Shannon Bosley, a 6-foot-2 center from Livingston and Anne Phippard, a 5-foot-10 point-guard from Kirkland, Wash., have inked with the Bobcats.
Bosley averaged 12.7 points and 8.9 rebounds, while shooting 51 percent from the field last season at Park High School in Livingston. In addition, she also lettered in track and field for the Rangers where she was an all-conference selection in the discus. An outstanding student, Bosley is a four-time all-state academic honoree.
“Shannon is a very athletic low post player with great size and strength,” Kudrna said. “We really like the way she runs the floor. Shannon will give us that much needed presence on the inside, but also has the ability to step out and hit the 15-18 footer.
“When we looked for posts we are searching for players that can keep up with our tempo,” Kudrna added. “Shannon was our top prospect at the post position and we are excited about her becoming a Bobcat.”
Phippard, an All-KingCo second-team pick at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, Wash., averaged 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 steals, last season. In addition, she led the Kangaroos to a 17-7 overall mark and a fourth place finish in KingCo 4A, which is one of the top conferences in the Seattle area.
For her efforts, Phippard was LWHS Defensive Player of the Year. She also lettered in softball. Phippard garnered Oregon City All-Tournament team honors this summer. An outstanding student, she ranks first in her class of 401.
“We feel she is one of the premier point-guards in the Northwest,” Kudrna said. “We saw her this summer and are very happy that she is coming to Montana State. Anne is going to be an outstanding point-guard, who plays both ends of the floor. She is a great fit for our program with her speed. Anne is also an outstanding student and is a very focused individual.”
MSU is finished with the early signing period.
