Bobcats Race Past Calgary

Nick Dissly scored 15 points, grabbed eight boards, and dished out seven assists to lead Montana State to a 103-55 exhibition victory over the University of Calgary on Thursday.
Dissly led an up-tempo Bobcat offense, which also featured a game-high 18 points from guard Branden Miller and a 13-point performance by Marvin Moss. Bobcat coach Mick Durham was pleased with his team's effort. "We were much better tonight" than in the exhibition opener last Saturday against Regina, Durham said, "more in sync. We were active defensively, and we were able to get some open shots running the floor."
Miller, who was 5-for-8 from three-point range and scored several easy transition baskets, was impressed with his team's ability to run the floor. "We've got the team for the style," he said. "We can get up and down and score."
The Bobcats shot 53% from the floor, limiting Calgary to 31%. Durham was pleased with his team's defensive effort. "I think we have a better sense defensively," he said. "I think this team has a chance to be a pretty good defensive team because we're so quick."
The Bobcats out-rebounded Calgary 46-to-38. "Without (injured center Matt) Towsley we're not huge, but we can go get the ball," Durham said of his team's success on the boards. "We have some athletic ability."
Montana State opens the regular season at Washington State on Friday, November 19, at 9 pm MST.
