Montana State Spikers Complete Weekend Sweep, Chop Down ‘Jacks

The win, coupled with MSU’s 3-0 victory over Sacramento State on Friday night, gave head coach Miya Malauulu the first Big Sky Conference home sweep of her career.
“I’m happy with the way we played this weekend,” Malauulu said. “We played two complete matches in all facets of the game.”
For the match, Montana State (11-4, 3-1) hit a whopping .400 from the field, while holding the Lumberjacks to .074. The Bobcats also held advantages in kills, aces, digs and blocks.
Senior setter Kamber Kelly also had a strong performance for the Bobcats with 43 assists, nine digs, eight kills and four blocks. For the second straight match, Kandice Kelly led the Bobcats in digs with ten.
“Our outside hitting corps really got the job done this weekend,” Malauulu said. “Meggie and LeAnn both played very well, and Kim Stonehouse was almost unstoppable against NAU.”
Northern Arizona (3-10, 1-2) was led in the loss by Katy Knowlton with eight kills and a team-high ten digs.
Montana State will be at Montana on Friday night.
