Bobcat Weight Thowers Shine at MSU Track and Field Invite

“Our kids were happy to be back in the Fieldhouse,” said MSU head coach Dale Kennedy. “We like to compete (here). We were noticeably more comfortable in the Fieldhouse, than what we were last weekend in Boise.”
Senior Jen Allen (Billings) led the weight throwing contingent winning both the shot put (48-03.5) and weight throw (60-08.5). Her mark in the weight throw was a new Montana State school record and was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark, as well.
The Bobcat women dominated the shot put as Allen was followed by Hannah Furlong, second, Carra Greyn, third, Megan Lee, fourth, and Amanda McCready, fifth.
MSU’s Cassie Nollmeyer won the pole vault with a mark of 11-10.75, while Erin Jones placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 5-03.75. Bobcat distance standout Ariana Lee posted a time of 9:41.81 in the 3000-meters, which will keep her on top of the Big Sky Conference rankings in the event.
On the men’s side, 3000-meter specialists Kevin Clary and Casey Jermyn turned in a one-two finish for the Bobcats. Clary’s clocking of 8:25.30 is close to an NCAA provisional mark, once altitude adjusted. Both reached the Big Sky Conference qualifying standard.
Blake Jackson and Josh Henigman both notched lifetime best marks in the shot put, with Jackson’s toss of 58-09.5 becoming the top mark in the league this winter.
Other notable contributors included Bobcat wide receiver Brandon Roosevelt’s time of 6.54 in the 55-meters; Thomas Seely’s clearance of 15-01.5 in the pole vault; Blake Barnes’ third place finish in the 55-meter hurdles, and Brad Benjamin’s time of 49.68 in the 400-meters.
The Bobcats will compete in the Mountain States Games next weekend in Pocatello, Idaho.

Senior Jen Allen (Billings) led the weight throwing contingent winning both the shot put (48-03.5) and weight throw (60-08.5). Her mark in the weight throw was a new Montana State school record and was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark, as well.
The Bobcat women dominated the shot put as Allen was followed by Hannah Furlong, second, Carra Greyn, third, Megan Lee, fourth, and Amanda McCready, fifth.
MSU’s Cassie Nollmeyer won the pole vault with a mark of 11-10.75, while Erin Jones placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 5-03.75. Bobcat distance standout Ariana Lee posted a time of 9:41.81 in the 3000-meters, which will keep her on top of the Big Sky Conference rankings in the event.
On the men’s side, 3000-meter specialists Kevin Clary and Casey Jermyn turned in a one-two finish for the Bobcats. Clary’s clocking of 8:25.30 is close to an NCAA provisional mark, once altitude adjusted. Both reached the Big Sky Conference qualifying standard.
Blake Jackson and Josh Henigman both notched lifetime best marks in the shot put, with Jackson’s toss of 58-09.5 becoming the top mark in the league this winter.
Other notable contributors included Bobcat wide receiver Brandon Roosevelt’s time of 6.54 in the 55-meters; Thomas Seely’s clearance of 15-01.5 in the pole vault; Blake Barnes’ third place finish in the 55-meter hurdles, and Brad Benjamin’s time of 49.68 in the 400-meters.
The Bobcats will compete in the Mountain States Games next weekend in Pocatello, Idaho.
