Robins Notches Career Best Freestyle Finish at Utah Invitational

Sarah Hansen of the University of Alaska-Anchorage won the race in a time of 32:29.5. Robins’ time helps solidify a possible NCAA Championship qualifying spot in March.
Other MSU finishers included Mandy Bowden, 26th, 35:11.7; Rachel Goldstein, 31st, 36:52.6; and Charis Gullickson, 36th, 38:54.6.
The Bobcat men’s team was paced by Christian Coe, who finished 18th overall in a time of 44:18.7. Other MSU contributors were Ryan Holtan, 30th, 48:04.9; and Travis Hansen, 31st, 48:32.4.
Danile Sonntag of Utah won the men’s 15-kilometer freestyle in a time of 40:55.1.
The Utah Invitational began with the alpine events Jan. 11-12, before concluding with the nordic races last weekend. New Mexico claimed the team title with 570 points, followed by Utah 563, Denver 523, Colorado 457.5, Alaska-Anchorage 411.5, Nevada 317, Montana State 292.5, Western State 222.5, Whitman 177, and Boise State 106.5.
