Bobcats Top Rocky

Jason Erickson scored 19 points to lead five Bobcats in double-digits, as Montana State beat Rocky Mountain 83-70 in Bozeman on Friday.
The Bobcats built a lead of 29 points and maintained a 20-point lead for most of the second half before the Bears closed the game with a 14-0 run against Montana State's reserves. The spurt was spurred by Bears star Jake Stuart, a senior from Gildford, who hit a pair of threes and finished with 16 points.
But the night belonged to Erickson and the rest of the MSU starters. After leading by 16 points in the first half, MSU took an 11-point cushion into the intermission. After trading baskets to start the second half, MSU rattled off a 17-2 run to blow the game open.
"I thought we really played well in the first 10 minutes of the second half," Durham said. "They came out and battled us in the first half, but I thought we did a good job taking the game over in the second half. I left the young guys in there at the end as a learning experience, and I think they did learn from it."
Erickson dished out three assists to go with his 19 points. Freshman Nick Dissly had 12 points and four assists, and forward Dennis Woodall also added 12 points. Forward Calvin Ento and center Matt Towsley each had 11.
The Bobcats host Mountain West foe Colorado State on Monday at 7:05 pm in Worthington Arena.
