#21/21 Cal Poly 24, #11/11 Montana State 21 in San Luis Obispo on Saturday
INJURY REPORT: The only Bobcat injury of note suffered in Saturday’s game was a concussion to Joey Thomas. He will be evaluated this week.

TEAM NOTES
• Montana State’s 1-2 start is its third in Mike Kramer’s four seasons, but only the third since 1991
• Saturday’s game was the first of the season for MSU without a 100-yard rusher
• Blake Wolf now has four catches this year, matching his season total from 2002 and two short of matching his career total from prior this season
• Montana State forced three turnovers Saturday at Cal Poly without coughing up the ball itself
• MSU has held both of its first two opponents of 2003 to less than 300 yards of total offense
• Montana State has now lost five straight to Cal Poly and 13 consecutive non-conference road games
• Nate Cook is 20-for-26 on field goals from inside 40 yards in his career, but 4-for-9 on field goals of 40 yards or more
• Of the 56 Bobcats on Saturday’s trip to Cal Poly, over 30 hailed from California
• Montana State recovered an on-side kick Saturday night, setting up the team’s touchdown that narrowed the gap to 24-21. The last time MSU recovered an on-side kick was the 40-37 loss at Cal Poly in 1999. That kick also came in the last three minutes of the game, and set up a touchdown that cut the gap to three points.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES/PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
OFFENSE: QB Travis Lulay, 6-2, 205, So, Aumsville, OR
Travis Lulay threw for 139 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. The Bobcats did not turn the ball over Saturday.
OTHER NOTES: Corey Smith caught six passes for 52 yards… Lulay led MSU in rushing… Blake Wolf caught a pair of passes.
DEFENSE: LB Roger Cooper, 6-3, 238, Jr, Port Orchard, WA
Junior linebacker Roger Cooper spearheaded a Bobcat defense that allowed 21st-ranked Cal Poly just 221 yards, 13 first downs, and two offensive touchdowns. Cooper had 11 tackles, including five solos, with four for a loss and one sack.
OTHER NOTES: Half of Ray Sebestyen’s three tackles were for a loss… Clive Lowe, Nick Marudas, and Jon Montoya each recovered fumbles on Saturday.
SPECIAL TEAMS: none
OTHER NOTES: Nate Cook averaged 40 yards on seven punts and nailed Cal Poly inside the 20 twice… Corey Smith returned a kick 64 yards, and averaged 33 yards on three kick returns.
