In the opening game, the Bobcats broke away from a 13-all tie with an 8-2 run to take a 21-15 lead following a Wiebe ace. MSU closed out the game on a Kelly ace.
In the second stanza, the ‘Cats built a 15-8 lead on a Kim Stonehouse kill, before Gonzaga (2-9) closed to within 21-19. MSU then rattled off a 9-4 run down the stretch, winning the game on a Bulldog hitting error.
The third game belonged to the Bobcats as MSU outhit the Bulldogs .289 to .179. Montana State opened up an early 13-5 lead on a Kelly kill and closed out the match on a Zanto kill.
