Bobcats Drop Opener

Montana State coach Mike Kramer spent most of last week talking about turnovers and the kicking game. Turns out he knew of what he spoke.
Wyoming blocked a punt for a touchdown and forced the Bobcats into four turnovers to hold off Montana State for a 21-10 win. "We played hard enough to win, but made enough mistakes to lose to any team on our schedule," Kramer said.
Wyoming started the Joe Glenn era in style when Derrick Martin recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown on MSU's first punt of the day. "We fought some young redshirt freshmen in the kicking game all day and that cost us," Kramer said. "But the good news is that they now have that experience, and they aren't freshmen any more."
Wyoming extended its lead to 14-0 with a Derek Armah two-yard run later in the first quarter. MSU got on the board with a 20-yard field goal 5:26 before halftime, then closed to 14-10 on a Scott Turnquist 31-yard catch early in the third quarter. But Lulay threw four interceptions, two deep in Wyoming territory to squelch scoring chances.
"Four interceptions is very unlike Travis Lulay," Kramer said. "There were some circumstances that led to those picks. He made some plays, and really kept us in the game. Travis played well."
The Bobcat defense was outstanding all day. MSU held Wyoming to just 236 yards of offense, and sacked Bramlett five times.
