Bobcats land T-Falls thrower

Karen Helvey, this spring's Class B discus champion from Thompson Falls, has signed a national letter-of-intent to join the Montana State track and field program, Bobcat throws coach Mike Carignan said.
Helvey won the discus competition at this year's state B meet with a toss of 134' 4:, and finished fourth in the shot put. "Karen is a great prospect for our team," Carignan said. "She only competed two years in high school and is still improving rapidly. She has a great attitude, and high expectations."
