Weese 12th in USATF Steeple

Lyle Weese finished 12th Saturday at the USA Track and Field Championships at Stanford, CA. Weese ran a mark of 8:40.02 on Saturday, about six seconds off the school-record pace he ran in the semifinals on Thursday.
On Friday night, Carrie Damschen finished eighth in heat one of the USATF 400 hurdle semifinals with a mark of 59.55. She didn't advance to the finals.
The USATF meet marks the end of the collegiate career of Damschen and Weese, school record-holders who will be remembered as two of MSU's all-time track and field greats.
