McKinstry finished seventh in flight three and Allen eighth. McKinstry threw 180-9, while Allen had a toss of 178-7.
"Chrissy was pretty steady," said MSU coach Dale Kennedy. "Jen fouled on her first throw, and I think she tightened up a little bit. She had a fair throw on her second throw, but a foot foul on her third throw. She just couldn't get it going. Chrissy is a senior, so qualifying for the national meet was a great reward for her. Hopefully the experience will benefit Jen, and she'll be able to be get back here next year."
