Bobcats Wrap Up Spring Drills Saturday

Sonny Holland Scrimmage will probably be audible.
Kramer said that he will feel relief, more than any other emotion, at the end of this spring. When it's over, and we've survived without having any more players injured, I'll probably berelieved more than anything else, Kramer said. We've been without 14 to 17 full scholarshipplayers because of injury and whatnot.
Kramer said the effect of this spring's injury problems has been interesting. At times what we
have been doing is practicing our coaching, Kramer said. We'be been coaching a lot of guys
that will probably not have a scrimmage impact next fall, but who will benefit greatly from this
experience later in their careers. We made a tremendous amount of progress from a
big-picture standpoint because a lot of guys that wouldn't have gotten that kind of experience
and quality coaching had an outstanding spring.
The Bobcats entered the spring with question marks regarding that coaching staff. Only
coordinator and quarterbacks coach Don Bailey remains on the offensive coaching staff from
last season. Kramer, though, has been pleased with the transition. The coaching staff passed
any test I may have offered. I'm extremely happy with the effect of the changes, and I'm very
confident in the future of this program because of the presence of this staff.
While most eyes focus on MSU's suffocating defense on Saturday afternoon, Kramer's
attention will be a little further away from the line of scrimmage. I want to see us play with
great emotion and great intensity, and I want to see our young guys show that they can playwith intensity and aggression they'll need to contribute next fall. I want to see Nick Marudasand Brandon Roosevelt show that they can be effective starters.
Saturday's Sonny Holland Scrimmage, which will run about 80 plays, begins at 2 pm in BobcatStadium.
