Hopkins had a two run time of 1:37.97 to guide the Bobcats. Also earning points was Hilary Turner, who finished 30th in a time of 1:40.78. Andrea Drew, who had been MSU’s top skier the last two meets, did not finish the first run.
Sophie Ormond of Denver won the women’s slalom title with a combined time of 1:27.15.
In the nordic competition, MSU was led by Charis Gullickson, who placed 24th in the women’s five-kilometer classic race with a clocking of 18:35.4. Finishing behind Gullickson was Emily Robins, 25th, 18:57.5; Kristine Kleedehn, 32nd, 19:20.2; and Lisa Erickson, 36th, 20:13.3.
The women’s classical race was won by Utah’s Katrin Smigun in a time of 15:31.0
Colorado captured its own invitational with 618 points, followed by Utah 565, New Mexico 523, Denver 483, Nevada 372, Alaska-Anchorage 356, Western State 307, Whitman 258.5, and MSU 98.5
Scores are based on a combination of men’s and women’s results. The Bobcats do not field a varsity men’s team.
