Western Michigan (3-3) shot 50 percent from the field and held a 48-41 advantage under the boards. The Broncos converted 19-of-27 free throws, while the Bobcats hit seven-of-eight from the line.

In the first stanza, Western Michigan took an early 15-7 advantage and built the margin to 26-17. MSU responded with a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 26-22 on a Sheila Hutchison three-pointer; however, the Broncos ended the half with a 9-2 run to enter intermission with an 11-point cushion.
“It just wasn’t our weekend,” said MSU head coach Robin Potera-Haskins. “We’ll learn from this experience and work on getting better.”
In the loss, the Bobcats were paced by Hutchison with 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. For the game, MSU shot a paltry 30 percent from the field, including a seven-of-29 effort from three-point range.
MSU will host nationally ranked Oklahoma on Wednesday night in Worthington Arena.
