After playing four of their first five games away from home, MSU plays seven of their next eight games in Worthington Arena. The Bobcats host traditional West Coast power Santa Clara on Saturday. The Bobcats lost a heartbreaker on a buzzer-beater at Denver on Wednesday, while Santa Clara has beaten San Jose State and Fresno State in its current four-game winning streak. Bobcat guards Jason Erickson and Josh Barsh held Denver guard Erik Benzel -- the team¡¦s leading scorer -- to just three points, but two of them came on a jumper with two seconds left that beat the Bobcats. Frank Brown had his best game as a Bobcat, getting a career-high 18 boards with six assists, while Erickson had 14 points, five steals, and three assists. The game was a defensive struggle throughout, as MSU shot 33% and DU shot 37%.
