Burrows and Tanner Pace Bobcat Women to Victory

Freshman Joanna Hixon came off the bench and recorded a double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Senior Sheila Hutchison ended 10 points, and was a perfect 2--2 from the free throw line.
The Bobcats held onto a strong lead after moving ahead of Montana Tech 23-9 at 10:41 with a field goal from Hutchison. A jumper in the lane from Burrows gave the Bobcats a 37-17 lead with 4:24 in the half. The Bobcats closed the half on a three pointer from Scotta Morton to enter intermission with a 47-27 advantage.
The Bobcats began the second half with a 5-0 run at 52-27 with 16:57 left to play. They continued to dominate the game by building their lead to 33 points on a field goal by Hutchison with 10:46 left in the game.
With 1:25 left to play the Bobcats had their biggest lead of the night at 91-43.
The Bobcats shot 53.1 percent from the field, while holding Montana Tech to 30.4 percent from the floor. The Bobcats out-rebounded Montana Tech 45-27.
Also contributing to the Bobcat attack were Nina Sanford, who finished with nine points, while Hillary Scott, Scotta Morton, Alyssa Nelson, and Whitney Connolly finished the with eight points apiece.
Montana State played without the services of starters Belinda Stubbs and Jana Smith, due to illness
Montana Tech was led by Letty Powell, who finished the game with 12 points, three assists, and three steals.
The Bobcats will play in the Arizona State tournament this weekend.
