Hutchison Named Big Sky Player of the Week

Sheila Hutchison had an outstanding week as the Bobcats went 2-1 with a loss to No. 14 Oklahoma and two road victories.
Hutchison played an instrumental role in MSU's upset at Portland (a team that had recently defeated No. 20 Oregon), posting a game-high 25 points, 23 of which came in the second half. The Blackfoot, Idaho, native also converted 5-of-5 three's in the second half and ended the game with seven rebounds, three steals, and a block.
The following night, Hutchison again led all scorers with 22 points, while hauling down eight rebounds and adding six steals, two assists and a blocked shot as the Bobcats defeated UC Irvine.
For the weekend, Hutchison averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 3.5 assists and one blocked shot, while shooting 52 percent from the field and 64 percent from three-point range.
Hutchison's totals for the week's competition (which included the home game against Oklahoma earlier in the week) were strong as well, averaging 18.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 4.7 steals and 2.7 three's per game. She also averaged 45.5 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from beyond the arc.
