Oklahoma Sweeps Past Bobcat Women

Sooner All-America candidate Caton Hill notched a game-high 23 points, including an eight-of-10 performance from the field. Hill also paced OU under the boards with a game-high ten rebounds.
Also notching double-digits for Oklahoma (7-0) were Lauren Shoush and Maria Villarroel with 18 and 15 points, respectively. For the game, OU shot 50 percent from the field and were 11-of-27 from beyond the three-point arc. Montana State (5-3) forced OU into 28 turnovers, but shot 32 percent from the floor and a paltry 39 percent from the free throw line.
“Our kids and our fans got a good look at what it means to be a top 20 program,” said MSU head coach Robin Potera-Haskins. “I thought we did a nice job in the opening 12-minutes, but Oklahoma’s size and strength took over. Our kids played with a lot of heart and we’ll take that into this weekend’s games.”
The Bobcats were paced by junior Kati Burrows with 15 points. MSU senior Sheila Hutchison ended the game with eight points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists.
MSU took the opening lead on a Burrows field-goal; however, the Sooners responded with a 14-2 run and never looked back. The closest the Bobcats came was at the 8:14 mark of the first stanza when a pair of Burrows’ free throws closed the gap to 26-17. OU entered halftime with a 52-25 advantage.
In the second stanza, a three-pointer by MSU's Hillary Scott closed the margin to 58-36 with 14:48 left. However, the Sooners stormed back and took their largest lead at 90-57 with 20-seconds remaining on a pair of charity tosses by Villarroel.
Montana State will play at the University of Portland on Friday night.
