Bobcat Women Host Montana Tech

I thought we played solid basketball, said MSU third-year head coach Robin Potera-Haskins. "We gained a lot of confidence on the trip and it was a great opportunity to come together as a team. And, it's always nice winning on the road."
The Bobcats were paced by senior Sheila Hutchison, who garnered tournament MVP honors. The 5-foot-9 native of Blackfoot, Idaho is currently averaging 19.5 points per game, while shooting 55 percent from the field. Also in double-digits for the Bobcats are Jana Smith and Kati Burrows, who average 13.5 and 10.5 points, respectively.
Montana Tech (2-7) dropped a pair of games in its own Peg Sarsfield Tournament last weekend in Butte. The Orediggers are led by Melissa Ritter, a 6-foot forward from Butte, who averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds, last season. Montana Tech is coached by Meg Murphy, who is in her fourth year with the Orediggers.
Tonight's game will mark the eighth meeting in the all-time series, with the Bobcats holding a 7- 1 advantage. Last season, Montana State defeated Montana Tech 78-42.
MSU will travel to the Wells Fargo Holiday Classic this weekend in Tempe, Ariz. The Bobcats will face Binghamton in the opening round, before meeting either Arizona State or Western Michigan on Saturday.
