The Montana State volleyball squad will host its final home match on Tuesday, Nov. 4; however, it’s 140 miles away from the friendly confines of Shroyer Gym. MSU will host Rocky Mountain College at Billings Skyview High School at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will conclude play this weekend when they face intra-state rival Montana, Nov. 7 in Missoula. Match time is 7 p.m.

REWRAPPING THE WEEK THAT WAS:
The Bobcats split its final two home matches last weekend within the friendly confines of Shroyer Gym. On Friday night, Sacramento State handed the Bobcats a 30-28, 30-25, 30-20 setback. In the loss, Montana State was paced by sophomore Meggie Malyurek with a team-high 14 kills. She also added eight digs and hit .244 from the field. Junior LeAnn Kinvig also contributed to the Bobcat attack with seven kills, nine digs, four assists and three blocks. MSU rebounded from Friday night’s loss with a 25-30, 30-21, 30-24, 30-21 win over Northern Arizona to complete its season sweep of the Lumberjacks. Malyurek tallied a career-high 24 kills, while adding 12 digs and a .281 hitting percentage. Kinvig also notched a double-double with 13 kills and 15 digs. Setter Kamber Kelly dished out 54 assists and added ten digs, while freshman Angela Wiebe recorded ten kills and a match-high eight blocks.
MONTANA STATE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
For the second consecutive week, sophomore outside hitter Meggie Malyurek was named Montana State’s Player of the Week for her efforts. For the weekend, the 6-foot native of Big Horn, Wyo., totaled 38 kills for a whopping 5.43 kills per game, while hitting at a .267 clip from the field. She also tallied 20 digs (2.86 dpg) and three blocks. Against Northern Arizona, Malyurek recorded a career-high 24 kills, while hitting .281 from the floor. Against the Lumberjacks, she notched her 13th double-double of the season.
CROWD CRAZY:
The Montana State University volleyball program continues to be one of the nation’s success stories. This week, the ‘Cats are ranked No. 14, averaging 1,570 fans per game. A month ago, MSU drew 4,741 for the annual ‘Cat-Griz clash, and outside of Hawai’i, it is the fourth largest single-match crowd in the nation this season. In addition, over the past two seasons, MSU has been ranked among the nation’s top 10 all-academic teams.
