Bobcat Playoff Notebook

For Montana State's second consecutive playoff game, the center of attention is the center position.
Sophomore center Zach Wolf spent Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday in the hospital recovering from surgery on his right bicep. Wolf suffered from compartment syndrome, a condition stemming from a bruise incurred during a game several weeks ago and aggravated last week.
Wolf underwent surgery on Wednesday night, and again on Friday. The surgeries were successful, and he is expected to be healthy for the start of spring ball in March. Bobcat coach Mike Kramer indicated that Wolf was within a few hours of losing his right arm completely.
The Bobcats are expcted to start Dusty Daws at left tackle, Brent Swaggert at left guard, Mataio Toilolo at center, Jeff Bolton at right guard, and Joe Hirst at right tackle.

With today's game schedule for a 6:35 pm local kickoff, Mike Kramer had plenty of down time on Saturday. He used it well, trekking out to the John Deere manufacturing plant. Although Kramer and several others, including the father of Bobcat fullbacks Ryan and Grant Elliott, spent an hour at the plant, they werent't allowed onto the premesis because the plant was closed on Saturday.

Today's game will be televised throughout Montana on NBC affiliates, along with nationally on ESPN's game day package.

Northern Iowa's UNI-Dome is strikingly similar to Northern Arizona's Walkup Skydome. The two primary differences are that UNI remembered to install a permanent press box rather than hanging one from the roof, and the UNI-Dome's transluscent portion of roof. The dome formerly was suspended by air pressure, but when the roof was destroyed during a storm a couple of years ago it was replaced with a steel dome, except for the middle, which is a material similar to that of the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

Montana State had a pair of walk-throughs in UNI's dome. The Bobcats have lost seven straight games played indoors.
