• Montana State’s season award winners were announced at Sunday’s Senior Banquet: Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year – Epi King; Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year – Claude Boiteau; Defensive Coaches’ Award – Adam Cordeiro; Offensive Coaches’ Award – Brent Swaggert; Jan Stenerud Kick Game Player of the Year Award – Corey Smith; Bill Kollar Outstanding Defensive Player Award – Kane Ioane; Sonny Holland Outstanding Offensive Player Award – Travis Lulay; Dan Hass Most Inspirational Award – Kane Ioane and Ryan Elliott; Special Achievement Award – Joey Thomas.
• Montana State’s win over the Grizzlies Saturday was its second straight in the series, and its first in Bozeman since 1985
• The Bobcats finish league action a winning Big Sky record for the third straight season, the first time the Bobcats have accomplished that since 1972-76
• The Bobcats have clinched their second straight winning season, the first time Montana State has accomplished that since 1996-98 and only the second time since 1976-79
• MSU had only 10 first downs against Montana, and has only 25 first downs in the last two weeks combined (MSU had 15 at Portland State). The Bobcats won both those games.
• Montana State has not turned the ball over in the past two games, and have now been turnover-free in five games this season, with a 4-1 record in those games
• The Bobcats were two-for-two in red zone scoring chances on Saturday, while the Grizzlies were four-for-four
• Montana State’s offense suffered from five three-and-out possessions on Saturday, the second-highest total of the season and just one shy of the combined total of the three previous games

INDIVIDUAL NOTES/PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
OFFENSE: QB Travis Lulay, 6-2, 205, So, Aumsville, OR
Travis Lulay led Montana State to a 27-20 win over Montana on Saturday to allow the Bobcats to clinch the Big Sky Championship. Lulay threw for 64 yards on 7-for-13 passing, and rushed five times for 29 yards and a touchdown.
OTHER NOTES: Bruce Molock has rushed for at least one touchdown in five straight games, he has eight rushing TDs in that stretch, and his 11 this season is fifth in school history… Travis Lulay has completed at least half his passes in 10 straight games… Scott Turnquist caught a pass to extend his string to 18 straight games with a catch… Bruce Molock rushed for 106 yards Saturday, giving the ‘Cats a 100-yard rusher in the ‘Cat-Griz game for the second straight year… Molock has four 100-yard games this year… Molock now has 913 rushing yards this season.
DEFENSE: DT Beau Clark, 6-1, 262, Jr, Belgrade, MT
Beau Clark keyed a solid defensive effort in Montana State’s 27-20 win over the Grizzlies, getting nine tackles (six solos). Clark had three tackles for loss, including a pair of sacks that came on back-to-back plays in the second quarter that helped the ‘Cats thwart a potential touchdown drive and hold UM to a field goal. Saturday was Clark’s second two-sack day of the season. He led all Big Sky interior linemen with 5.5 sacks last year, and now has five this season.
OTHER NOTES: Adam Cordeiro registered a sack for the second straight game, and now has 3.5 this season… Cordeiro now has 26.5 sacks in his career… Cordeiro has had five tackles in back-to-back games, and has at least four tackles in six straight… Kane Ioane led the ‘Cats in tackles for the seventh straight game… Joey Thomas picked off his third pass of the season, and broke up his 10th pass, both team highs… Clive Lowe registered his fifth sack Saturday to tie Beau Clark for team honors.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Corey Smith, 5-10, 168, Sr, Federal Way, WA
Corey Smith’s spectacular senior season continued Saturday, when he became the first player in the 103-year old Montana-Montana State series to return an opening kickoff for a touchdown. Smith’s 90-yard return gives him an average of 36.2 yards on 16 returns this year, which leads Division I-AA. He also has two kick returns for scores.
OTHER NOTES: Nate Cook has missed a PAT in three consecutive games … Lulay has now pinned the opponent inside its own 20 11 times.
