Bobcats Win Opener

Seniors Danny Faaborg and Jason Erickson combined for 34 points to lead Montana State to an 87-75 win over Quinnipiact in Miami on Friday.
The win propels the Bobcats into the championship game of the FIU/Hampton Inn Classic, hosted by Florida International. The game will begin at 1 pm Sunday.
Faaborg led the Bobcats with 19 points on 5-for-8 shooting. All five of his field goals were three-pointers. Calvin Ento had a double-double for the 'Cats, getting 10 points and 12 boards.
MSU raced to a 50-29 halftime lead, shooting 64% in the first half. Turnovers plagued the Bobcats -- MSU had 23 in the game, 13 in the second half -- and allowed Quinnipiac to get to withing 61-56 with just eight-and-a-half minutes to play. But a three-pointer by freshman Nick Dissly, followed by a Dennis Woodall three, built the cushion back to double-digits.
