Bobcat Women Host Czech Republic Squad in Exhibition Opener

“We’re looking forward to facing someone other then ourselves,” said Potera-Haskins, who led the Bobcats to their second straight Big Sky Conference regular season title, last winter. “I know the kids are ready for some different competition.
“Exhibition games give you a good look at where you are and where you need to go,” Potera-Haskins said. “It will give us a chance to use a bunch of different line-ups and find some chemistry.”
The Bobcats, who posted a 21-9 overall mark last season, will start four returners and one newcomer. Tentative starters will be, Jaimey Tanner, a 5-foot-5 junior guard, who transferred from Dixie College; Jana Smith, a 5-foot-7 junior guard from Ronan; Sheila Hutchison, a 5-foot-9 senior guard from Blackfoot, Idaho; Kati Burrows, a 5-foot-11 junior forward from Bozeman; and Belinda Stubbs, a 6-foot-2 senior center from Ayr, Australia.
Strakonice, a member of Basketball Travelers, Inc., plays at Montana on Wednesday, before making the trip to Bozeman. Strakonice is 0-3 on its Northwest trip with losses to Oregon, Oregon State and Gonzaga.
Following their game with Strakonice, the ‘Cats will host Northwest Sports on Saturday night in Worthington Arena in their final tune-up before opening the regular season, Nov. 21 against UC Riverside.
