"Arkansas is a great program and we just didn’t compete," said MSU head coach RobinPotera-Haskins. "I think we panicked and had some open looks that we didn’t convert.Arkansas is more athletic and a little quicker and that’s something we weren’t use to. Thecompetition was great."
Arkansas (11-2) held the Bobcats to only eight points in the second stanza as MSU shot eight
percent from the field on two-of-24 from the floor, while the Lady Razorbacks connected for
58 percent on the game.
The Lady ‘Backs were led by Dana Cherry with 13 points, while Lewis and Shameka
Christon added 11 and Shanna Harmon had ten.
MSU was led in the loss by Isabel Stubbs with nine points, while Lewis and Sheila Hutchison
each added seven, apiece.
"We weren’t getting back on defense and they were running down the court scoring lay-ups,"
Potera-Haskins said. "We’ll learn from this experience. It was a great basketball atmosphere
and it was nice day for the Lewis’ and Siloam Springs."
In the first stanza, the two squads traded points and Arkansas held a 13-11 margin at the
12:08 mark, before the Lady ‘Backs rode the shooting of Harmon. The 6-foot-2 native of
Norman, Okla., hit three three-pointers in the span of two minutes to blow open the door forthe Lady Razorbacks and give UA a 39-19 lead with six-minutes remaining. Arkansas shot 58percent from the field, while holding the Bobcats to 33 percent and forcing 17 MSU turnovers.
Stubbs paced Montana State with eight points in the first stanza, while Harmon had 11 andLewis notched ten points to give the Lady ‘Backs a 49-29 advantage at halftime.
Montana State will play its last non-conference game at Wyoming on Saturday.
