Durham wins 200th vs. Griz

I know it was my 57th Bobcat-Grizzly game, but it felt like my first, said Durham, who reached a major milestone on Saturday. Montana State's 62-58 win over arch-rival Montana was Durham's 200th career victory, moving him into a second-place tie with Weber State's Neil McCarthy on the Big Sky career win list.
"I was nervous all day, Durham said of the time before MSU's win on Saturday. I was miserable. But it feels good now."
Durham's 200 wins is the second-most in Montana State history, after Brick Breeden's 272 wins, and he trails Bobby Dye as the winningest coach in Big Sky history. Dye, Boise State's long-time coach, finished his career with 214 wins.
"Durham's 11th win over Montana was a memorable way to reach the milestone", Durham said. "I remember my 100th win, which was at Weber State, he said. That was special because it's such a difficult place to win. And I'll always remember my 200th win. Beating the Grizzlies, that's special."
While enjoying the milestone, Durham was quick to put the victory into perspective. The important thing about the win was that it gets us back to 2-2 in the conference, and we defended our home court.
Bobcat guard Pete Conway has been a part of 66 of Durham's victories. The senior from Billings said he, too, will remember Durham's milestone win. It's a huge accomplishment for Coach Durham, Conway said. To be a part of that is great. He's been here for a long time, and done a consistently good job.
Although the season continues on Thursday with a critical home weekend against Sacrament State and Saturday with a contest against Northern Arizona, Durham said he'll treasure the 200th win. And, he said, there's one part of the milestone that will remain the most important.
"To me, the thing I'm most proud of is that all 200 wins have come at one place", he said. "To win 200 games at my alma mater, at the school I cheered for when I was growing up, I don't think I can put that into words."
