Northern Arizona Ends Bobcat Women's Season

Risteen at No. 5 singles to clinch a 4-2 victory for the Lumberjacks in the semifinals of the2002 Big Sky Conference tennis championships, Saturday night in the Bobcat Tennis Center.NAU will meet Sacramento State in the title game on Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats opened the match by winning the doubles point after taking Nos. 1 and 3doubles. However, Northern Arizona responded winning Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 singles for thevictory. MSU's lone singles win came at No. 3, where senior Liz Lowrance tallied a 6-2, 6-4victory over Kathy Kmiec.
We needed to win more than one singles match, said MSU women's coach Denise Albrecht.We couldn't ride the momentum when it was going our way. It's tough to keep the momentumgoing over a four-hour period. Give NAU credit, they got it done.
Montana State ended its season 13-10 overall and 6-3 in Big Sky Conference action.
