From a Bobcat to a Lion: JT Goes in 4th to Detroit

At least, Taylor is going to get his shot. A three-year starter with MSU, Taylor was drafted bythe Detroit Lions with the 134th pick in the NFL Draft this weekend. Detroit, coached byformer Grizzly quarterback Marty Morningwheg, was the 36th selection in the fourth round.
Taylor becomes the first Bobcat drafted since Sean Hill was picked in the seventh round of the1994 draft. Only three MSU players have ever been chosen higher in the NFL Draft thanTaylor: Bill Kollar, 1st round, Cincinnati, 1973; Jon Borchardt, 3rd round, Buffalo, 1979; andJan Stenerud, 3rd round, Atlanta, 1966 (Stenerud instead signed with the Kansas City Chiefs,leading that team to one Super Bowl Championship, and eventually earning a spot in the NFLHall of Fame).
