Bobcats Claim Share of Big Sky Title

Clark chose Senior Weekend, the final pair of regular season home games in his Bobcatcareer, to explode for the best back-to-back games of his career. Clark scored a career-high
24 points against NAU on Friday, and came back with 18 points against Sac State on
Saturday.
Even with Clark's heroics, the game was close until junior power forward Latovic caught fire in
the second half. He hit a three-pointer with 7:53 left to give the Bobcats a 49-41 lead, and one
minute later nailed another three to give the 'Cats a 54-43 edge. Clark hit back-to-back threes
about three minutes later to seal MSU's win.
The game was tied 27-27 at halftime. I had tears in my eyes at the start, Clark said. It was
our last regular-season home game. I don't know if that's a reason for the slow start, but we
won.
The offensive explosion in the second half was triggered by a halftime adjustment by the
Bobcat coaching staff. We talked in the huddle at the start of the second half about just
making things simpler, said MSU coach Mick Durham, who becomes the first Bobcat coach
since Roger Craft in the 1960s to win at least a share of two Big Sky regular season titles. Aquick ball screen and then start motion. It seems like that kick-started things. We were waitingand waiting for the offense to click. We had to wait a while.
Rich said the adjustment worked. We had our four man start setting ball screens for the pointguard in the second half. That was getting Casey (Reynolds) and Damir open for threes. Wehit some great threes when we needed them.
Jimmy White and Derek Lambeth each had 15 points for Sac State, who outrebounded the'Cats 33-32. MSU shot 45% to Sac's 43%, and hit eight threes to the Hornets' four.
