Blake Adds Another Feather to Her Cap

Montana State senior Jessica Blake, who has received twoconsecutive Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors,has added another award to her resume, after being named to
the 2002 Verizon Academic All-America Women's Basketball
All-District VII Second-Team as voted by the College Sports
Information Directors of America.
This is a tremendous honor for Jessica (Blake), because it
combines academic achievement and athletic ability, said MSU
head coach Robin Potera. She is having a phenomenal season
on the court and more importantly Jessica is getting the job
done in the classroom, as well.
Blake, who has over a 3.60 grade-point average as a
psychology major, is the leading scorer in Big Sky Conference action, averaging 18.6 points
per game. She is also averaging 6.8 rebounds and shooting 58 percent from the field.
Named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-America District VII First-Team were Kerensa
Barr, Missouri; Lindsey Meder, Iowa; Nicole Ohlde, Kansas State; Angie Welle, Iowa State;and Lindsey Wilson, Iowa State. Named to the second-team along with Blake were JaymeAnderson, Drake; Ashley Atkinson, Denver; Carrie Bacon, Wyoming; and Kara Opp,Northern Iowa.
