MSU Women's Tennis Coach Hired on Permanent Basis

last season at Montana State University, has been named thepermanent coach at MSU, announced Dan Davies, associateathletics director, who oversees the Bobcat tennis programs.
There is no doubt that De nise (Albrecht) is the best person for
this position, Davies said. She established herself as a
tremendous coach last season in all facets of the program.
Denise has a strong understanding of tennis and is respected
around the state of Montana and within the Bozeman tennis
community, as well. She is well-liked by the student-athletes
and the MSU administration. I feel strongly that Denise will add
stability as well as guide the women's program to the top of the
Big Sky Conference.
Albrecht led the Bobcat women's tennis squad to a fifth place
finish at the Big Sky Conference championships this spring. Next fall, MSU will return six
upperclassmen, including three seniors.
I feel very honored and grateful to be coaching at Montana State University, Albrecht said.
This past season was a learning experience and I feel that we have established ourselves as a
team that will challenge for a Big Sky Conference title. We have a very experienced nucleusreturning next season and we're excited for the what future holds.
Albrecht, a Great Falls native, is a former Montana state high school champion and women'sstate open winner. She is a graduate of the University of Utah and led the Utes to the 1982Western Athletic Conference crown, after upsetting perennial WAC power Brigham YoungUniversity.
Prior to being named MSU's interim women's head coach last season, Albrecht worked atPrevent Child Abuse and Bozeman Public Schools.
