For the second straight night, MSU scored just eight points in the first nine minutes of the
game. The 'Cats trailed Hampton 18-8 last night, and fell behind San Diego 16-8 and 18-10
before six straight points by James Clark got the Bobcats back into the game.
San Diego hit a dozen field goals in the first half, and eight of them were within five feet of the
basket. MSU, however, tried 14 of its 30 shots from beyond the three-point arc in the first
half.
Durham said MSU's second-half comeback was triggered, in part, by good shot selection.
We started getting better looks at the basket (in the second half), and like last night started
knocking them down.
For the second straight night, sophomore guard Jason Erickson got his career scoring high.
Erickson had 19 points, and also dished out three assists.
Casey Reynolds had one of his better games, as well, getting eight points and eight rebounds,with five assists, a block and a steal.
