Gantt Becomes All-Time Winningest Coach as Bobcats Sweep Griz

Montana State head coach Dave Gantt became theall-time winningest coach in Bobcat history as MSUhanded Montana a 30-16, 31-33, 30-17, 30-18setback to sweep the season series between the
intra-state rivals, Friday night. Gantt posted his 137th
victory at Montana State, surpassing the old mark 136
wins held by his former mentor, Bill Neville.
MSU's Falin Schaefer, who was this week's Big Sky
Conference Player of the Week, continued in top form
by pounding down a match-high 21 kills against the
Grizzlies. Schaefer also tallied 15 digs, two aces and
three blocks. Also in double-figure kill totals for
Montana State (17-5, 8- 6) was Anne Watts with 18
kills and a match-high 19 digs. In all, five Bobcat
players reached double-figure digs, including; Schaefer, Watts, Aimee Halyk (13), Lisa Webb
(12) and Lorraine Morrison (11). Morrison paced MSU with 29 assists, while freshman
Kamber Kelly came in to set the final two games and tally 25 assists and six kills.
I thought we played a very consistent match, Gantt said. We had a little lull in the secondgame, but we came out strong in games three and four and did a nice job finalizing the match.This will give us some good momentum heading into the Big Sky tournament.
The Bobcats will play in the Big Sky tournament Nov. 15-17 in Sacramento.
