Junior College Standout Signs with Bobcat Women's Hoop Squad

most valuable player at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, this season, has signed a nationalletter-of- intent to play at Montana State University, announced Bobcat women's head coach

Jessica (Blake) is a very solid post-player, McCarthy said. She has the ability to score with
both hands and is also a very good rebounder. She has a passion for the game and plays
extremely hard.
Last season, Blake averaged 13.8 points and 7.0 rebounds, while shooting 58 percent from
the field. She led the Vikings to a 29-8 record, including an NJCAA National Tournament
berth. Ricks lost in the third round of the tournament to Gulf Coast College. In her NJCAA
Tournament opener, Blake scored 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting and eight rebounds. For
her efforts, Blake was named to the all-tournament team.
Jessica will give us a solid presence inside, McCarthy said. She is very mobile around the
basket and has a good feel for the game. In addition, she is a great person and an outstanding
student.
A native of Shelley, Idaho, she led the Russets to the state Class A-2 title and was a two- timefirst-team all-state, all-region and all-conference player, before skipping her senior year of highschool and enrolling at Ricks.
