School to back-to-back Montana state championships, has signed a national letter-of-intent toplay at Montana State University, announced MSU head coach Frank McCarthy.
Kati (Burrows) is a versatile player who comes from an outstanding program, McCarthysaid. She is a proven winner and a committed athlete. We're very excited that she is going tobe part of our program next season.
Burrows averaged 15.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game last fall, while shooting56 percent from the field. The Bozeman native was a first-team all-state selection and afirst-team state AA tournament pick, after leading BHS to a 21-2 mark. During her tenure atBozeman High School, she led the Hawks to a 62-8 record, two Class AA statechampionships and one third-place finish. A three-time all-conference honoree, Burrows was
selected for the Montana-Wyoming all-star game, and was listed as one of the top ten players
in the state by theGreat Falls Tribune.
We consider Kati to be one of the top five players in the state, McCarthy said. I really like
the passion she has for basketball and her competitive spirit. She has worked hard on her
perimeter skills and she can also put the ball on the floor. She is a very strong athlete, who
possesses a great work-ethic.
Burrows also garnered most valuable player kudos at the Treasure State Classic and was
named by USA Today as one of the top ten players in Montana. She was honored by
Bozeman High School as their most inspirational player and was the Hawks' team captain, as
well. An outstanding athlete, Burrows also lettered in volleyball and track.
Burrows joins early signee Ember Harberts, a 6-foot-2 forward from Florence, as part of
McCarthy's first recruiting class at Montana State. The Bobcats will look to sign a couple
more athletes during the spring signing period.
