Cats Land Tourney Title

became the first player to win back-to-back MVP honors in leading Montana State to a77-72 win over Radford in the championship game of the Bobcat Holiday Stores TouchAmerica Classic in Bozeman on Saturday.
Lazosky, who joins former MSU standout Danny Sprinkle as the only players to earn tourneyMVP honors twice, scored 13 points in each half, and nailed 10 of his 12 free throws in pacingthe Bobcats. MSU was 35-for-49 from the line, but hit 22 of its 26 second-half free throws topace the Bobcats.
We found a way to win, that's the bottom line, said MSU coach Mick Durham, whose team
has now won six of the seven Holiday Stores Touch America Classics. We didn't shoot it
well, but we hung around. The technicals gave us a spark, but we made some plays down the
stretch.
The 'Cats trailed by six with 10:18 to play when Radford's Jason Williams was nailed with a
technical, and moments later Highlander coach Ron Bradley was likewise assessed. Justin
Brown made all four free throws to narrow the margin to two, and two minutes later Radford
still led by four. At that point, Pete Conway nailed a three-pointer, was fouled, and made the
free throw to get MSU even for the first time since the 10-minute mark of the second half.
After a bucket by Williams, Justin Brown hit a three-pointer to give MSU a 58-57 lead with
6:58 to play. The Bobcats would never relinquish that lead.
Peanut Arrington scored 23 points for Radford, while Andrey Savtchenko grabbed 13 boards
and scored 14 points. The Highlanders shot 41.7%, but held MSU to just 35.4% from the
field. The 'Cats, however, were 8-for-12 from the three-point circle.
Aaron Rich and Justin Brown each scored 12 points for MSU, with Rich grabbing eightboards.
MSU opens Big Sky play on Thursday, hosting Eastern Washington at 7:05 pm inWorthington Arena.
