Cats to Add Three Transfers at Semester

Wednesday, the first day transfer students are allowed to sign letters-of-intent, when a pair ofreceivers and a promising defensive lineman inked with the Bobcat football team.
Junior college receivers Justin Reber and Bryan Molen and University of Idaho defensivelineman Jacques DesMarais will each transfer to Montana State for the upcoming springsemester, and each are eligible to participate in spring drills. Reber and Molen will each bejuniors next year, while DeMarais will be a freshman.
Molen is a 5-10, 195 lb receiver from Salt Lake City, Utah. He caught 15 passes for 252yards and a touchdown at Dixie, Utah, College last season. His father, Tommy, was atwo-year starter at halfback for the Bobcats (1959 and 1960, and gained 766 yards on 118carries in those two seasons.
Reber, a 6-2, 195 lb receiver, transfers to MSU from Sacramento, Calif., City College. He is
characterized as a rangy receiver who can go get the ball by Kramer. He began his career at
Sacramento State in 1998 before transferring to Sac City.
Reber and Molen are really similar players, Kramer said. They have both demonstrated the
ability to catch the ball on a consistent basis. Both are two-year starters in their respective
junior college programs, and both were keys to their program's success. They give us savvy
and experience and because of their age add a lot of dependability and confidence.
DesMarais (pronounced dee-mah-RAY) was a two-time all-state and three-time
all-conference choice at Lakeland High in Rathdrum, Idaho. The 6-1, 285 lb defensive tackle
will ease the loss of William Kofe, who will leave for an LDS Mission after spring ball. He
spent the fall semster at Idaho as a walk-on redshirt.
Jacques will be able to compete for time right away, Kramer said. He gives us depth on the
defensive line in light of the loss of William Kofe. He is right where Kofe is in terms of strengthand ability.
In addition to the three new players, Kramer announced that defensive tackle Jesse Marundewill return to the squad next semester. He was suspended from the squad for conductdetrimental to the program, Kramer said. He will be a third-year sophomore next fall.
