MSU Lands Prep Golf Standouts

Spokane, Wash., have each signed a national letter-of-intent to join the Montana State golfteam next year, MSU coach Dan Davies has announced.
Spring finished first in her District, fifth in her regional and tied for seventh at the Arizona State
Class 4A Championships this fall. She finished first, fifth and sixth in those three meets,
respectively, as a junior last season. She averaged 38.6 strokes per nine holes this fall. Her
grandfather, Carl, was Montana State’s postmaster from 1957-88, and her father, Mike, grew
up in Bozeman and earned his master’s from MSU in 1981.
"Tiffani is a solid player with a lot of potential to get even better," Davies said. "She’s played
very good competition, and her family has strong ties to Bozeman. I’m excited about bringing
her to the program."
Leslie also brings outstanding credentials to MSU. She won eight of her 24 spring and summer
tournaments in 1999, and finished in the top 10 in at least half of those outings.
"Erica has tremendous potential and good physical skills, and I think she could become an
outstanding player in our program," Davies said. "I’m very excited to sign these two
student-athletes. They both love to cmopete and will give us some much-needed depth next
season. Both could very well figure into our lineup this fall. They are very dedicated to improvetheir games, and are also outstanding students."
