Bobcat Skiers have Uphill Performance

This was our best day ever, said MSU head coach Dan Brelsford. Chelsea Sullivan was in first place after the first run, but took a spill on the second. I'm very pleased that our second, third and fourth skiers really stepped up to the challenge.
The Bobcats were paced by freshman Nadja Hartmann, who placed eighth overall in a combined time of 1:45.03. She was followed closely by teammate Suzan Dole, ninth, 1:45.16. Kristen Ellena completed MSU's scoring with a 12th place finish in a clocking of 1:45.65.
Colorado's Tove Pashkowski won the giant slalom title with a time of 1:41.81, while former NCAA champion David Viele of Denver, captured the men's crown in a time of 1:36.02.
CU leads the team race at the MSU Invitational with 409 points. Points are determined by a combined finish of both men's and women's programs. The MSU Invite started on Wednesday with nordic competition in Soldier Hollow, Utah. The nordic events were part of the US Cross-Country Championships and finished Thursday afternoon.
The MSU Invitational will finish Saturday morning with the slalom races on Tippy's Tumble at Big Sky Resort.
Team Scores: Colorado 409, Denver 399, Utah 339, New Mexico, 298, Alaska- Anchorage 250, Nevada 207, Western State 152, Montana State 95, Whitman 93.
Note: Montana State is the only team in the competition that does not have a men's team to factor into the overall scoring.
