Montana State’s wrestling program in the 1960s proved to be one of Bobcat Athletics’ greatest dynasties, and Larry Leonard was a key component and a great performer. Leonard helped lead Montana State to the third of three straight Big Sky titles with an individual championship in 1966, and he also won the Big Sky at his weight class in 1967 and 1968. In 1967 he won the Mountain Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, where he won an opening round match.
