David Phillips joined the list of Bobcat greats when he earned All-America hammer throw honors in 2013, finishing 12^th in the nation, but his career stands as a testimony to consistent excellence. He won four Big Sky Championships, including one in at least three different events, and landed eight all-conference honors. He remains the MSU record-holder in the hammer throw, and has the second-best weight throw in school history.
