Long-time Bobcat tradition gets a faceilft for new year
A Bobcat Athletics tradition moves into two new venues this year.
Cat Chat, a weekly live radio show featuring Montana State football coach Rob Ash throughout the fall, moves to The Club Tavern and Grill at the Best Western Plus GranTree Inn. Bobcat fans enjoy the opportunity to interact with Ash and selected Bobcat players while enjoying exclusive food and beverage specials. The show runs from 7-8 pm each Wednesday during the football season, beginning on September 2.
The Club Tavern and Grill offers a variety of televised sporting events, including NFL and Pac 12 contests. Ash and different student-athletes each week visit with Bobcat play-by-play voice Jay Sanderson. The show can also be heard on KXLB 100.7 FM during football season.
During basketball season Cat Chat moves to Bridger Brewing, directly across the street from Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Fish and Binford and players from each program get together each Tuesday at 12 noon. The show is recorded live with fans invited to participate with questions while enjoying food and beverage specials, and airs on Tuesdays at 7 pm on 1450 KMMS-AM.
Bobcat fans have a third opportunity throughout football and basketball seasons to interact with MSU coaches. The Bozeman Holiday Inn on Baxter Lane hosts Coaches Corner each week, beginning with the first installment on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Coaches Corner begins at 10:30 am each week, and features Ash during football season and Fish or Binford during basketball season.
Montana State's televised coaches show, The Bobcat Sports Report, airs around the state throughout the football and basketball seasons. ABC Stations in Bozeman, Butte, Missoula and Kalispell air the show at 10:15 pm on Sundays, while the Great Falls and Helena ABC stations air it at 10:35 pm on Sundays. Air time on Billings' NBC affiliate, KULR-TV, is yet to be determined. The show also appears on Altitude Sports and Entertainment on Mondays at 4 pm.
Cat Chat, in one format or another, has been a staple of information and entertainment for Bobcat fans since the 1960s.
