Crum, Mohl Named Big Sky Scholar Athletes

Tennis and Track standouts earn league academic honors
The Big Sky Conference announced the 2014 Scholar Athlete Award winners and two top-notch Bobcat student-athletes received their deserved recognition based upon athletic and academic performancs during the 2013-14 school year. To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), be a member of the graduating class and/or completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have completed at least two years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and be a letter winner.
Ellie Crum just completed her tenure as a member of the Bobcat Women's Tennis team. Crum, who logged 38 victories in singles play and 33 wins in doubles action during her tenure with the Bobcats, was one of 11 NCAA Division I student-athletes, and the only Big Sky Conference representative, named to the CoSIDA District VII academic squad. In the classroom, she finished her academic career with a 4.00 grade-point average in exercise science. She was a four-time Big Sky Conference All-Academic selection. Crum will continue her education at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota this fall, pursuing a career in physical therapy.
Jeff Mohl closed out his career at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, placing 11th and earning Second Team All-America honors. He finished his last Big Sky Championship with his third multi individual title, along with three NCAA apperances. Ranking among the top-10 in 10 separate indoor and outdoor events in the Bobcat Record Book, he has also been a multiple-time Big Sky MVP. As a machenical engineering major, he earned six Big Sky All-Academic nods and posts a GPA above a 3.80.
